BIOEN was founded in 2023 and in the first year of operation processed 12,200 tons of olive mill wastes, produced 139 tons of pomace oil and 5,780 tons biomass with moisture about 57%. In the second year of operation it processed 29,410 tons of olive mill, wastes produced 298 tons of pomace oil and 14,450 tons of biomass. The infrastructures of BIOEN are: pumps, pre-conditioner with vibration, three (3) malaxators, two (2) decanters, distillation units, Hot water boiler and exchanger, plastic tanks and inox containers, conveyer belt, moisture analyser. BIOEN coordinated DEP6-0022691 - Improvement of the infrastructures of an oilseed kernel processing factory for the production of high added-value product, Funded by: Regional Program of Western Greece - 2014-2020.
BIOEN set it's goal of participating in european research. The research manager, Dr. Diana Portan, has 14 years of experience in the Mech. Eng. Dept. of the University of Patras, in multidisciplinary science related materials, mechanical testing and bioreactor.
